Express the Moment December Kit

A while back Kim from Express the Moment invited me to be a guest designer for them.  I received the December kit a couple weeks ago, and have been having a great time creating with it.

I got the kit before Christmas, so I scrapped some older Christmas photos....it was a great way to get me into the Christmas mood.

The ETM kits are jam packed full of products and I have plenty left to do some more layouts, but this is what I have to share today:

My Very First Tree - The year Ellie moved to a big girl room, I surprised her with her very own light up tree.  She was SO excited.  This paper from Fancy Pants was perfect for commemorating the occasion.

I layered one of the Echo Park chipboard pieces over one of the Fancy Pants buttons, and stacked two of the buttons to create some custom embellishments.

One of the Fancy Pants trims that came in the kit had all sorts of great little sayings printed on it...here I selectively cut the trim to get this love sentiment and attached it to the cardstock with my Tiny Attacher.

Waiting - My brother and his wife weren't able to fly in until Christmas evening this particular year.  Ellie was waiting at the door for them to arrive....they brought her Jingle the Rescue Pup.

One of the Fancy Pants papers is kind of a subway style print with all sorts of sentiments.  I cut selected sentiments out to create this faux tree.

First Helmet - Not exactly a Christmas layout, but the colors were perfect for these photos.  I added some machine stitching and punched circles/buttons as embellishments for this CAS layout.

Detail of the stitching/buttons.  The small circles are from a larger hole punch.

Happy Birthday Jesus - We started a new tradition this year - baking a birthday cake for and singing Happy Birthday to Jesus.  Those beautiful snowflakes are Fancy Pants rub ons.  The patterned paper in the center is Jillibean Soup.  I used my craft knife to cut out some of those diamond elements, and then added them over top of other elements using foam tape for some added dimension/texture.

Seasons' Greetings - I wanted to do something different in style/format from the layouts, so here's a card that is in a more modern style.  The sentiment is another of the Fancy Pants rub ons as are the small snowflakes.  The large snowflake is one of the Echo Park chipboard elements.

So there you have it.  I was really pleased with this kit (this is the second ETM kit I've had).  I've been really pleased with the amount of product you receive as well as the amount of embellishments.  In other kits that I've tried I feel like you kind of run out of embellishments, and I definitely did not have that problem here.....I used the kit exclusively and didn't add any product to my projects.

Thanks for coming by, hope that your year is off to a great start!

  5. awww, so sweet! You know I love kits, I'll have to check this out! I love that you sang HB to Jesus. My niece (4 1/2) this year kept showing us her new camera and it has this frame (it's a kid-friendly camera) with balloons and she kept telling us it was Jesus' birthday. Too cute!

I love all of your LO's!
