When Hot Chocolate is too Hot

I've been neglecting my scrapbooking some, so I am trying to get back in the swing of things.  These photos are from this past Christmas at my parent's house.  We had gone out in the 'snow' which was really more like slush.  Carina didn't last long, so we headed inside for some hot chocolate.....a bit too hot, and Carina resorted to using a spoon to eat it like soup.  When making this layout I realized that I do a lot of layouts that involve Carina eating in odd or messy ways.  I'm going to have to come up with some different topic areas, or she will have a complex when she grows up!

I used Authentique's Carefree papers, and strung the photos on some Twinery Stone twine, attaching it with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.  I left the twine kind of loose, so that I could loop it around a bit, and used some Helmar 450 adhesive to take the twine in place.

Not an overly fancy layout, but practically speaking they can't all be one photo works of art.  I love being able to spend a couple hours putting together the perfect layout, but I also hate the feeling that I'm getting more and more behind.  Although I'm no longer tied to scrapbooking chronologically, I still do feel pressure (sometimes more than others) to get pages done.  So this is one of those quicker/easier layouts that eases my falling behind anxieties and gives me the freedom to spend time meticulously working on other layouts.

Hope your week is going well!

  6. Well I think it's an awesome layout. You're preserving memories, not submitting to an art gallery ;-) and anyway, sometimes the simpler designs have more of an impact as they let the photos speak! Great colours and layout here Miriam!!
