Jane's Doodles Spotlight Blog Hop, and Exciting News!

Hey everyone!  I'm really excited to share that I've joined the Jane's Doodles' design team.  I love Jane's sweet illustrations and I'm really excited to be working with her!  Today the DT is spotlighting the latest release, Wise Owl, Read All About It, and Doodle Flowers II.  Be sure to hop through because one lucky commenter is going to win all three new sets!

I had a great time working with the sets and have lots to share, so let me get right to it.

First up a Wise Owl card.  Of course I had to feature that great owl.  I clear embossed him on watercolor paper and then used Vintage Photo distress ink and Distress markers to color him in and add the ground line.

The sentiment was also clear embossed and emphasized with Vintage Photo.

Those Read All About It kids are so cute, I went pretty simple, creating two little cards that you could tuck into a lunchbox.  The images were stamped and colored with copics, I went back and stamped/colored some random stars as well.

Finally Doodle Flowers II.  The original Doodle Flowers is one of my all time favorite JD stamps, so I was really excited to see this new set.  I was in need of some end of year/summer gifts for Carina's teachers, so I put together.

These were so easy to make.  I clear embossed the leaves stamp on watercolor paper and then added a wash with my Derwent watercolor pencils.  I went back and added a second and third wash with slightly different shades of color.  This was repeated with three other color combinations.  So quick and easy!

I wanted to keep the cards nice and flat, so no foam adhesive.  I've shard this tip before, but for adhering watercolor paper to a card base I always use CTMH Bonding Memories Adhesive, it's a blue adhesive that you kind of pump and apply with a foam applicator.  This seems to really work even when your paper is slightly warped/wonky from watercoloring.

I won't list all the supplies used since this post is already plenty long, but please ask if you have any questions.  Your should have come from Marion Vagg's blog (she's also joining the DT) and your next stop is Aga.  I have the full list below for you.
