MFT Handcrafted Holiday Celebration - Handmade Tag

All this week MFT is celebrating the holidays.  Today, designers are showcasing handmade tags.

I enjoy making tags, they are a quick and easy way to dress up a gift.  Notice the emphasis on the quick.  I'm of the opinion that the bigger the project is, the more time it should take.  Tags, being little, should not take much time.  This theory generally works, although I have been known to make a complicated tag or two from time to time.

For this tag I had mass production in mind.

The tag was cut using my Fishtail Banner STAX and I love how the tails of the hand lettered sentiment go off the tag.

The tree is from the Santa's Elves set, and although colored with Copics, it was done as simply as you can - no shading.

I did add a second colored banner to jazz things up a bit, but this really is very simple and doable.

In fact, I stamped one out for each of my girls to color.  This is a perfect way to include kids in your holiday crafting/gift giving.  (For actual mass production purposes I might provide a little more direction.  I literally stamped these and handed them to the girls and told them to color them in.  Carina's is a little avant garde for my taste).

OK, that's all for me today.  Be sure to stop over at the MFT blog to check out the official post and see what the rest of the team created.
