World Card Making Day with My Favorite Things

Hey everyone!  I'm excited to be helping out with the World Card Making Day celebration at My Favorite Things.

We have new posts going live all day between 4 AM and 8 PM.  You're going to be seeing peeks at the new MFT October release, and you're also going to have the chance to win prizes....prizes which happen to be new release goodies!

I'm mixing a little old and a little new today.  The October release is just chock full of holiday goodness, but also has some great basics that can be used year round.  My favorite is the Stitched Arch STAX.  It's just perfect for framing/spotlighting your focal point, which is exactly how I used it here on my front panel.

I also love the Snow Drifts Cover Up.  I used some of the cuts from the cover up to create the hills in the background.

Then it was time for some old.  One of my favorite sets released this year was Penguins in Paradise, and while the set definitely has a summery tropical theme, penguins are obviously well suited to for winter.  I used the penguin holding a cocktail, but fussy cut the penguin, snipping out the cocktail.  Instead, he's holding up one of the ornaments from the new Santa's Elves set.  The presents come from that set too.

I finished the card off with a sentiment from the new Hand Lettered Holidays set, I just love that classic scripty font!

While I had my stamps out, I whipped up another card.  One layer to boot, that's not easy for me!  I used the big polar bear from Cool Day combining it with this sentiment from the new Stay Cool set.  They go together so perfectly don't they?

OK, be sure to head over to the blog to leave a comment to win, and remember, there are new posts every other hour over there, so keep checking back.  Have a great World Cardmaking Day!
