Congrats on Your New Home

Hi friends!  I'm sharing this card on the Neat & Tangled blog today.  It's the time of year where people are starting to think about buying and selling homes.  I've actually got a couple friends in the middle of the process, and thought I ought to get some cards ready.

To create the background I dry embossed a panel using the Patchwork Field stencil.  I wanted to add color as well, so I left the stencil in place and added some inking using Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover Distress Oxides.   You can see the debossed look from this technique better in the below photo:

For the sale sign, you can see above that I utilized some partial die cutting.  I started by stamping the sign and sentiments from the Welcome Home set on a panel of white cardstock, then I die cut the sign using the coordinating die leaving the bottom of the die hanging off the cutting pad just a bit so the bottom did not cut.  The excess paper was trimmed away with my paper trimmer.

I added a bit of ground line and extended the left portion of the sign post down just a bit, using a fine journaling pen, to meet the ground.  I also added some very light gray Copic accents.

The entire panel was then popped up over the background with foam tape.

I debated adding something else to this card, but I really like how the sign pops against the background and decided to leave things clean and simple.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope your week is going well!

  1. Thanks for the reminder on partial die cutting! it's perfect with your for sale sign. And i agree, it pops nicely on that background without anything else added.
