Jane's Doodle Spotlight Blog Hop

Hey everyone!  The Jane's Doodles design team is showing off two of the newest sets, Donuts and Smile today.  You should have arrived here from Ange's blog.

My first card clearly features donuts.  I colored the donuts with Copics and then added some bits of paper and doily to the top of the panel, stitched them down and added a healthy sprinkle of sequins.  Pretty simple and easy, don't those donuts look good?

My second card features Smile and it's a little unorthodox.  It's definitely not what I set out to do, but this leaf stamp kept staring at me and telling me to make it a heart.  It's true, sometimes my stamps talk to me.

Anyway, I stamped it repeatedly to create a pattern, coloring the leaf/heart with Copics.  At this point I wasn't sure quite how to proceed.  I played around with a couple ideas and then just decided to make the pattern the star of the show.

A thin sliver was sliced out towards the bottom and I popped the remaining pieces up with foam tape and then added a die cut sentiment which I covered with glossy accents to give it some extra dimension and shine.

That's all for me to day.  You're off to Aga's blog next, and if you're just getting started you'll want to head to Jane's blog as she's the first stop.

Jane will be drawing a winner from one of the stops to win both of these new sets.

AND if you've been eyeing some JD stamps, this weekend is the time to pick some up.  All clear stamps are 30% off this weekend!

Have a wonderful Easter!
