Cuckoo for You!

I haven't had a chance to participate in The Craft's Meow's sketch challenge in a while and I was determined to do it this month.

AND, I was the very lucky winner of Nina Brackett's new Vintage Clocks set in this last release.  I just love these images, and was keeping my fingers crossed that it would get to me before month's end.  As luck would have it, it was waiting for me when I got home today!

My favorite image from the set is this cuckoo clock.  I wanted it to look like it extended past the tag, so I stamped the top of the clock on the tag and then stamped the bottom on a scrap piece of paper and fussy cut it out to attach it to the tag.

I've paired it with my Pemberley papers.  They are so pretty, and have that vintage look to them, so I thought they would be perfect together.  That blue piece is from the zip strip on one of the papers.  I added some crocheted lace from Hydrangea Hippo and some sheer gold ribbon I received in a grab bag a while back.

This one was just so much fun to put together!  Hope you are having a wonderful evening!

The Craft's Meow January Sketch

Here's my card for this month's Craft's Meow sketch. If you're a follower of my blog, you know that I like to stretch my stamp sets, use stamps in ways they might not normally be used, and highlight some of the smaller stamps in the sets.

This is another one of those cards. I'm in a Valentine's Day frame of mind these days, but I don't have a Valentine's Day Craft's Meow stamp set. This card uses All the Merry Best. I used the small snowflake set and White Daisy pigment ink on the die cut heart to create a doily effect.

Then I used the star stamp around the edge of the circle piece to create a border.

On the the base piece of cardstock, I scored the bottom half every 1/4", and then lightly swiped my ink pad over it to create pattern/texture.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Craft's Meow November/December Sketch

Here's my take on this month's Craft's Meow sketch. This card uses The Merry Best stamp set. It also features my favorite print from Close to My Heart's Wonderland Level 2 Paper Pack. I love the soft pattern with very faint doilies and snowflakes. It's just a gorgeous sheet of paper.

I also created some paper for this card. The rectangular pieces on the left side of the card are stamped with the large snowflake from the stamp set. The white cardstock is second generation stamped with Chocolate ink, and the piece underneath is Kraft cardstock which is stamped with White Daisy ink.

The square and blue circle are edge distressed and sanded, and the white circle with the star stamped on it has chocolate ink sponged around the outside using my large sponging tool.

It was fun to make non-traditional Christmas card as I generally tend towards red, green, Christmas trees/holly, etc.

Wednesday's over...the weekend is coming!! Have a great night all.

The Craft's Meow October Sketch Card

I was fortunate enough to win one of The Craft's Meow's new stamp sets, The Merry Best, last week during their new release. The set came this week and I decided to ink it up and participate in their monthly sketch challenge. All the stamps on this card are from The Merry Best stamp set.

Instead of using a border on the left side of the card, I stamped one of the ornaments from the set, and then cut the edge to create the border. I decided I wanted to see the entire ornament, so I cut the front of the card away as well....that part was a little tricky, but I like the result.

The Ho Ho Ho is actually the last line of one of the sentiments: Merry Christmas! Ho Ho Ho. I stamped just the Ho Ho Ho portion on a thin piece of Kraft to create a ribbon effect.

The tag was cut using the Cricut Art Philosphy cartridge. I added the to/from, and then paper pieced the other two ornaments and adhered them to the tag, and then fastened it to the Ho Ho Ho piece with some hemp.

This was a fun sketch to play along with, wide open for interpretation, the way I like them. Hope you enjoy the card!

CTMH Supplies Used:

Ink: Holiday Red, Topiary, Chocolate (for distressing)
