Celebrate Getting Through It

Hey everyone!  I'm sharing this card over on the Neat & Tangled blog today.

As you guys know, I've been having all sorts of fun with my new Open Box die.  Today I thought I would showcase another way to use/close it.

To assemble the box die, I use micro or mini dots.  If I keep the box open, I'll attach the little tabs on the outside of the box since they are kind of hidden, like  this:

If I am going to have the box closed, like in this card, I want a neater look on the outside, so I adhere the little flaps on the inside of the box.

In a previous card I tied the box closed, but tying perfect bows can be tricky, especially when it's a little box.

So for this card, I closed the box the easy way, kind of like when you're packing real boxes, by overlapping the flaps and tucking one side of the last flap under the first flap.

It's super easy and quick!

I wanted to make a more masculine card, and I thought about tucking some money in there like Heather Hoffman did on this card, but I ended up using a bit of flair that I had in my stash from BossyJoscie instead.

The sentiments are form the Celebrate stamp set.

Really simple, but a fun way to send some encouragement.  Thanks for visiting!

Gift Card in a Box

Can you believe that Christmas is only a month and a half away?

I'm trying to get a jumpstart on things.  We generally give our teachers a gift card along with something little for Christmas.  Since I'm already feeling a little pressured for time I wanted to create a card that is special, but easily reproducible.

Enter the Box die.

Seriously so simple, cut/assemble the die, two sheets of patterned paper, a stamped sentiment (from the Out of the Box set), slip in the gift card and you're done!

In terms of assembling the box die, when I'm putting a critter of some tissue paper of other 'stuffing' in the card I'll adhere the tabs around the back of the card.  This gives the box a little more depth/space inside for the contents.  For a card like this where I'm slipping in something nice and flat, I fold the tabs and adhere them to the inside of the box.  I would use either liquid adhesive (the kind where you press the applicator down to release the blue liquid, my favorite is CTMH Bonding Memories adhesive) or some of that really sticky red line tape.

The box is also the perfect size for slipping in a check or some cash if that's the stage of life your kids have reached.  Mine are not yet there.  They spent a great deal of time researching the Target toy catalogue over the weekend.....

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day!

Neat & Tangled September Release Week Day 1 (Giveaways)

Hey everyone!  It's Release Week at Neat & Tangled!

Today the Design Team is showing off some new fall themed sets.  I'm featuring the Boo to You set and dies.

If you're not familiar with the concept of 'Booing', basically it's a fun way to leave some treats with friends/neighbors anonymously in the build up to Halloween.  You 'Boo' someone with treats and they then 'Boo' someone else, it's kind of like an anonymous chain letter than involves candy.  You definitely want to stop by the Neat & Tangled blog as Danielle has some free printables/instructions for you to use when Booing your friends.

Anyway, I created a card to go with the treats.  The sentiment is obviously from the You've Been Booed set and the spiderwebs are from a coordinating die that is also releasing.

I thought the little ghost from last year's Creepy Cute set and coordinating die popping out of the Box Die would be the perfect way to highlight the sentiment.

OK, I mentioned giveaways, right?  Please stop by the Neat & Tangled Blog.  Someone who comments there this week is going to win the WHOLE RELEASE.  I have a lot of new products in this release, so I'll be picking some winners too.  All you need to do is leave a comment on my Release Week posts.  For an extra chance, please share and leave a separate comment on how/where you shared.

See you right back here tomorrow!

New Products for Neat & Tangled

It's Day 2 of Neat & Tangled release week, and I'm up to bat today.

For those of you who love Origami Map and hate fussy cutting, you'll be happy to hear that we're releasing a coordinating die.  Origami Map is one of my very favorite sets and the die just makes it that much more versatile.

Secondly, a new standalone die that I have been kicking around in my head for months now.  It took a little longer to perfect than I originally hoped, but I think you will love the result.  There is a coordinating stamp set for it too.

Please head over to the Neat & Tangled blog to check out all the projects!
