Neat & Tangled June Release & Giveaways - Day 4
Hey everyone! It's our final day of release reveals and today I get to show off a new stencil and die called Exploding Blocks. I was inspired by a bird's eye view of a city street, but I love that the graphic nature of the design allows you to use it for other things as well, it almost reminds me a bit of my Time Warp stamp.
Anyway, let's get to the cards. For this first one, I cut the cover plate twice, once with black cardstock and once with white. Then I inlaid the pieces. I used plain white for the surface/street areas, black for the sides of the buildings and then for the tops of the buildings I colored the white pieces with Copics in a rainbow pattern. Actually, Carina was around when I was making this, so I picked out the markers and she did most of the coloring.
The sentiment is from the Celebrate stamp set.
Next up I wanted to create a vertical card with kind of a space/time warp vibe.
I again cut the cover plate twice, once from white cardstock, and once using a panel that I had ink blended with turquoise/teal colors. I trimmed out just the center portions of the exploding blocks, inlaid the pieces from the inked die cut panel, and popped them up to frame the sentiment which is from the Art Deco set.
Finally, I wanted to take the stencil out for a spin.
I kept this one really simple. After spraying some adhesive on the stencil to make it tacky, I placed it on a cardstock panel and then misted it with Heidi Swapp Gold Lame Color Shine. I misted it pretty heavily, so there's actually a bit of texture to it.
I wanted to keep things pretty simple, so I used the Awesome dies. The frame cut was die cut out of the center of the stenciled piece and then I mounted that on black cardstock. The sentiment itself was cut from gold mirror board and then adhered in the negative space from that frame cut. This looks so pretty and shiny up close!
That wraps up the release! Everything will be available tomorrow morning at 8 AM EST.
Be sure to head over to the N&T blog to see what the rest of the team created as well as take a look at the mini set we are highlighting today. You can also leave a comment there to be entered to win all today's featured products.
