2018 Autism Awareness Blog Hop

Hi friends!  Today is World Autism Awareness day, and I'm participating in a hop organized by Veronica Zalis to help raise raise awareness for Autism.  Veronica is a great friend, amazing crafter, and wonderful mom to three kids including Cameron who has autism.  To learn more about autism, I encourage you to visit Autismspeaks.org, and Autism Daddy.

There are all sorts of prizes up for grabs from lots of crafty sponsors during the hop, and you also have the opportunity to link up a card or project to help increase Autism Awareness, so be sure to head over to Veronica's blog for all those details.

When I was looking through my stamps for an image for today's hop, nothing was really standing out, but then I came upon this quote from a Studio Calico stamp set and it really resonated with me, so I made the sentiment the focal point and built the rest of the card up around it.

The images/flourishes around the sentiment are from Altenew's Lacy Scrolls stamp set, and I basically alternated images, but stamped them somewhat symmetrically around the sentiment.  Because the images themselves aren't symmetrical it's a bit more of an organic look, but remains pretty balanced.

All the stamping was done with Altenew Desert Night ink, but I wanted to give the stamped flourishes a bit more depth, so I added some accents with a dark blue Copic marker (B29) and Copic Opaque White.

You could definitely just use a white gel pen for the white dots, but I like how bright white the Copic Opaque White is and you get a bit of texture and dimension from that as well.  OK, be sure to head to Veronica's blog to start, but I also have the entire list below if you need it.

  101. You chose the perfect sentiment!! It makes me think of when our son was little. It was so freeing to get out in the woods and hike with him. It was our most peaceful time. Being hikers my husband and I enjoyed moving along the trails with a quick pace but our little boy noticed EVERY THING!!! He would stop and point out every little thing we had totally missed. Our little guy didn't just exist he LIVED in the moment. He is 21 now and doing well. I am so appreciative to all who bring awareness to this special cause!

  116. CURE TO AUTISM WITHOUT ANY SIDE EFFECT: My son was diagnosed with autism. My son autism was something i don't understand he cry so bad that he was usually in bed for about 8 hours and soreness killers (even prescription strength) don't stop the crying (except taking him out) even if he take triple the dosage. my son symptoms was really so bad, that we have to make hospital our home, and all the doctors would do is monitor it, prescribe him countless of control pills and pain medication with no positive result. until recently I contacted a Doctor who put an end to this problem. If you are having same problem with autistic son contact Dr. William for advice and possible solution without any side effect (drwilliams098675@gmail.com@gmail.com)
