Best Wishes for Avery Elle, more new stuff

Enjoying my crafty time tonight!  I am sneaking in under the wire with a card for Avery Elle's new challenge.

The challenge from Avery Elle is to "create a project that sums up your personal paper crafting style".  This is actually a pretty difficult challenge for me because I don't feel like I've necessarily landed on a personal style yet.  I tend toward CAS with a little bit of whimsy, but I also love to experiment, and stretch my supplies....so that's what I did here.

When Avery Elle opened I immediately fell in love with the Ikat set. It's so unique and different....I hadn't, and still haven't, seen a set like it.

For this card I used one of the borders from Ikat to create the medallion design (don't you LOVE the fact that you can curve clear stamps?).  I stamped them first in my current color crush, CTMH's new Slate color.

Then I went back and stamped them again, but this time, I added color to just the outer edge using a Ruby Metallic Faber Castell PITT marker.

The sentiment is from Avery Elle's Bloomin' Banner set, and that sheer ribbon was a scrap that I had in my stash.

It was so much fun to play with some more new supplies (my Avery Elle stamps and PITT artist pen).  I'll be linking this one up over at Simon Says Stamp also.

Thanks for coming by!

  19. This is a really clever card Miriam - definitely innovative!! I'll be honest, I'm still trying to figure this set out - is it animal print, is it something else? Whatever it is, I love how you've used it here!!
