Wool you be mine?

It's my turn on the Jane's Doodles blog today.

I had a lot of fun making this card using Dots and Stripes and Seamus.

Seamus was stamped, colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I used some patterned paper for his yarn/knitting.  Then it was time to add some more interest to the card.

This was not exactly the look I set out to make.  I started out wanting to do a simple bokeh effect in the top left corner of the panel, I used first and second generation stamping in the pink color and just second generation with the blue.

Once I had it stamped, it still looked like it needed something, so I added some sequins.  I decided I wanted to stitch those down to add some texture, and doing so vertically added some great movement, the idea that things were kind of falling.

I could have stopped there, but for some extra valentiney-ness, I added hearts from the Seamus set.  Nine times out of ten when I have trouble stopping myself from adding more 'stuff' to a card I end up disappointed, I'm glad it worked out in this case!

  8. Miriam!!! LOVE this! Only you could keep adding like that and have it turn out so fabulous. ALL of your elements combine together so well. The vertical stitching really helps with the falling look. And the solid white sheep on text ... pow! Oh, oh, and the chevron knitting, that's a stunner too. Love it to pieces!!
