MFT / Xyron Collaboration

Hey everyone!  This week My Favorite Things is collaborating with Xyron.

I do not know what I would do without my Xyron machines/sticker makers.  I have a 5" Creative Station, a 1" sticker maker and a 1 1/2" one too.  They get lots of use when I'm adhering small die cut pieces, especially letters as well as when I'm doing heavy duty inlay.

Today, however, I'm showcasing a new favorite, Magnet Tape!  This stuff is fantastic and I'm so happy to have discovered it.  Unlike some of the magnet tapes of old, this is VERY thin, easily ripped by hand, although the dispenser is just like a scotch tape one and it easily tears off, very sticky (it's not going to fall off) and the magnet part is actually quite strong.  This is going to be a staple for kids projects around our house for sure.

I decided to create a magnet farm scene for our refrigerator.

I used the Die-namics Barn dies and The Whole Herd stamp set.  The images were colored with Copics and the barn assembled and then I ran all the pieces through my laminator.  I very carefully cut the barn doors open and trimmed out the window and around the animals, and then it was just a matter of applying the magnet tape.

My girls are on the hairy edge of playing with refrigerator magnets, but they noticed these immediately when they walked into the kitchen the next morning, and really, who can resist Birdie Brown images?

Please head over to the MFT blog to see the rest of today's projects.  And be sure to check out Xyron's Facebook page where they are sharing projects as well.
