PTI Stamp-A-Faire Part 1

I had a bunch of time to create this weekend, and it also happened to be PTI's Stamp-A-Faire weekend, so I thought I'd see how many challenges I could get done.  I'm happy to report that out of the 9 challenges, I was able to complete 8!  And the last one I just didn't feel like doing because it was too hard, and this weekend wasn't about hard for me, it was about fun.

First up PTI wanted to see our favorite PTI creation.  This is the one I picked from a recent Blog Hop.  I had a great time combining embroidery and coloring to create it, and it also uses my all time favorite PTI sentiment set (which you'll be seeing more of).

The first challenge was a color recipe.  Here is the one I picked.

Now I have to admit that I kind of totally cheated on this one.  I happened upon this patterned paper that basically did all my work for me.

I die cut the Leafy Branch Die from black cardstock as well as from the patterned paper, and then adhered it slightly off set.  The sentiment is from the Happy Trails set.

This next card is my favorite of all the cards I created this weekend.  It was a pointillism challenge.

I thought this image from the Botanical Blocks stamp set was perfect for the challenge, because it was small.  Ha!  Actually I thought it worked well in terms of the lines and that texture in it to begin with.  Not gonna lie, this takes a while.  But I think it's really worth it.

The image was stamped with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Then I went in with the darkest colors to try and define the lines.  Once that was done I went darkest to lightest and kind of 'shaded' the colors.

OK, I have a bunch of other cards to share from Stamp-A-Faire, but I thought I would stop here for tonight.  I'll share the rest later in the week.

  1. Wow! Look at you, Girl! You rocked that patterned paper, and made it wonderful! And that pointillism? Spectacular! not gonna lie...

  2. Wow, your pointillism card is fantabulous! Love how that turned out!

  3. Fantastic!!! Right down to the very last dot, Miriam ... and worth every second of your time ...

  4. Wow, these turned out gorgeous, Miriam!!! ALL of them are such pretty designs and so well suited to the techniques! That pointillism is just perfect! I saw your water color card, too, and it is SO lovely...beautiful choice of colors...LOVED the softness of it! And I see you, too, are partial to Melissa's sentiment set! I think the two of us should beg for a part II and, while we're at it, request larger coordinating sentiments for inside the card! What do ya think???;) nice stopping by to see your (always) fresh and lovely work!!!

  5. Fabulous cards!! Especially love the pointillism card!!

  6. Beautiful lineup, girl, but that gorgeous sunflower completely stole my heart! LOVE!

  7. What amazing cards!! I LOVE the pointillism card that you created with the sunflower. I have this stamp and am going to have to try it. You really did a nice job on all these challenges!

  8. Okay, the black leaves on that gorgeous background is stunning! I want to CASE this..... And I LOVE your pointillism card! You did a fantastic job with that technique!
You totally rocked the SAF challenges, Miriam! Great job!

  9. Fan-flippin-tastic!! 8 challenges in one weekend?! That is crazy talk and totally awesome. :) That embroidered card just swoons me as this is one of my favorite MP things to see :). I love the bold colors on the second and the third is dynamite! I am a HUGE fan of pointillism, and I am so excited to see what you made in that vein. Turned out soooo very cool! :) Way to rock your weekend! :)

  10. Hello. Just looking on Pinterest and came across this card with the leafy branch die. I can't seem to find the die. Is it a Papertrey Ink die? Thanks...

    1. Sorry. Just found it. It's called Branching Out. Love the technique.
