It's the fourth and final day of our release reveals! Everything will be available in the store tomorrow at 8 AM EST, but first I get to show off my newest cover plate!
Meet the Squares and Chevrons Cover Plate. I love cover plates, but lots of times I wish they were cleaner - that they didn't have the ribbing that helps you know where the pieces go so that they would look fully inlaid. Of course, that's not reasonable with complicated patterns, but I figured with a bold enough design it would be doable, and this is what I came up with.
For my next card, I cut the cover plate from white cardstock and layered it over a piece of dark woodgrain patterned paper. The lighter chevron pieces were left over from the previous card and inlaid into the design.
Originally I was going to use those center squares as frames, and had colored a third squirrel, but then decided I wanted to place the sentiment in the center.
The stamps are from the My Favorite Nut set and were colored with Warm Gray Copics. The sentiment is from So Many Sentiments and the banner is from the Scalloped die set.
OK, be sure to head over to the Neat & Tangled blog to see what the rest of the team created and be entered to win today's featured products. Half of the team is featuring another cute mini set from Elena, so you definitely want to check that out too.
Leave a comment here as well. I will be selecting a couple winners from this week's comments to win my new release products. For additional entries head over to my instagram (@mprantner) and follow the directions there.
I'll be back tomorrow with some winners!
For this first card, I cut the cover plate from two different woodgrained patterned papers. I did adjust the papers so that the grain was horizontal on the darker, and vertical on the lighter.
Then I proceeded to alternate the papers for the inlay.
I love what a clean look you get with this cover plate.
The sentiments are from the new Hello Spring stamp/die sets.

card; both are lovely.
This cover plate has such a lovely bold pattern. It's the same die, but the first cards has a more distinct geometric style. The change in orientation and the addition of the critters on the second card, makes the pattern more mellow. Thanks for the inspiration.
