As soon a I saw this little boy (as well as the matching little girl set) by Birdie Brown for My Favorite Things I knew I had to have him/them. Isn't he the cutest? I just love his pose! He's colored with Copics and then fussy cut. There are coordinating dies, but since he's a pretty decent size and doesn't have a ton of teeny tiny protuding parts, I decided to save some money and skip the dies on this one.
I really wanted him to pop and be the star, so I kept the rest of the card very neutral and simple.
I cut a panel of Stone Gray MFT cardstock and then masked off the bottom with some Post-It tape. Then I used the Mini Raindrops Stencil and embossing paste to add texture to the top of the panel.
I cut another piece of Stone Gray cardstock for the bottom/sentiment piece. I just wanted it a bit darker, so I colored it with Copics using a blend of C3 and C1. The Stone Gray cardstock is somewhat textured, and it really soaked up the cardstock color so you get a bit more of a variegated vs solid look.
Once my raindrops were dry, I stamped the sentiment (from the Rain or Shine set) and adhered that piece to the panel, and then the entire panel to the card front. The little boy was popped up over top and that was that.
I just love this little guy! Next to color the girls in the Rain or Shine set!
