Neat & Tangled May Release Day 1 and Giveaways - and a Big Change
Hi all! It's time for the May Neat & Tangled Release. I've got a couple of items in this release that I can't wait to share with you, but today we're showing off a new set from Elena called Barnyard Buddies.
There are lots of different animals in the set that you can mix and match. I picked a cute little trio for today's card and colored them with Copics. The sentiment is from the Typed Sentiments set which I altered just slightly to remove the 'i'. They do look like they are missing someone, don't they?
Then I added a few different patterned paper mats and that's was it.
You'll want to head over to the Neat & Tangled blog to see the whole reveal and enter to win this set there.
OK, I mentioned a big change right? This really is a big one. In fact, for me, if this year had a theme, it would be change. There are some really exciting changes coming down the pike for Neat & Tangled that you'll start learning about soon At the same time, I've been weathering some pretty big changes at work/home, both in terms of assignments as well as hours. Based on all the changes happening (could I use the word change anymore in this post?!), this will be my last release/month designing for Neat & Tangled.
This was not an easy decision to come by. I have been working with Danielle/Neat & Tangled for the last six years, as a designer, illustrator, and design team coordinator. It's been a huge part of my life. I am so grateful to Danielle for giving me the opportunity to dip my toes into the world of design, and for producing those designs month after month and year after year.
What comes next? Well, honestly I'm not really sure. I'll still be creating and sharing here on my blog - I have a very large pile of unused products that I'm looking forward to working with, and my scrapbooking has been severely neglected the last few years. I've continued to design/illustrate, and am looking for the right fit for me going forward. While these changes make me a little sad (because in general I am not a fan of change), I'm excited for Danielle and Neat & Tangled, and also to see what comes next for me.
Alright, enough of the sappy stuff. This is only Day 1 of the release. There's lots more to come, so I'll see you back here tomorrow for Day 2!

ReplyDeleteLike you, I'm not a fan of changes, so I can fully understand that this is a huge step for you. We will miss your designs, but I'm sure there will be new and exciting times ahead of you.

DeleteSad you're leaving Neat & Tangled, I've really enjoyed all your product designs over the years! Good luck in all your future endeavours!
ReplyDeleteIt is sad for me too, but it's time. And thanks so much for your kind words, designing has been such a wonderful outlet for me!
DeleteSuch a cute card with these farm animals and so sad you won't be with N&T anymore.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue! I'm hoping that it is just a short hiatus from designing!
DeleteI have really enjoyed the stamps you designed for N & T, especially the Scandinavian styled ones. I think that I bought all of them. I'm sure you have some cool adventures ahead of you, you just don't know what they are yet. I am not a fan of change, either, unless the change is fun (like oh boy, we get to start traveling regularly--now that is change I have loved). But sometimes change is scary even if it is a GOOD change. I am on your email list, so I will be privy to whatever you post about. Thank you for everything you have done in the past 6 years to inspire our crafty creativity.
ReplyDeleteChange is hard, but it's best to move
ReplyDeleteforward and not look back. I know
you will continue to be so creative
and happy in your crafting life.
Best wishes for your future endeavors.
thanks for sharing with us for so long.

ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card and love the hint of yellow around the outside, makes it look like its glowing!! I'm so sad we won't be seeing your designs at Neat and Tangled anymore, however life sometimes dictates what is needed and it seems that 'change' is needed for you. I hope that you will still be able to have your designs turned into products in the future as your a genius with your ideas. And how fun to be able to take a step back and just enjoy making cards and scrapbooking like everyone else!!

ReplyDeleteOh I honestly very sad to hear that your leaving N&T because I love what you have designed and now happily own many of them. I wish you all the best! Cute CAS card.
ReplyDeleteMiriam! Oh I can appreciate what a difficult decision this was for you to make, but can I tell you how proud of you I am ... you can't do it all!! I long to get back into scrapbooking too and dream of it one day, hopefully before my kids leave I guess : ) I'm also change-adverse and can totally relate. Has it really been 6 years already?! Well, you've certainly left quite a legacy at N&T. Your amazing designs were always so well thought-out!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet card! I'll miss seeing your designs at Neat & Tangled, but I wish you all the best in what you do in the future. :)
ReplyDeleteFirst, I really like your sweet card! Secondly, I'm anxious to see what you do in the future. I've always liked what you post & will continue to follow you. I retired last year, before I had in all of my years. Best thing I could've done for my sanity. I'm sure you'll come to feel the same way!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card, just love your adorable little critters!! You will be so missed at N & T, your style is so easy to spot, such an incredible gift. Moving on is never easy no matter where it is. I wish you all the best and look forward to still seeing your incredible creations.
ReplyDeleteI love this sweet card.
ReplyDeleteLovely card! I think the expressions on the animals' faces reflect how we'll feel about you no longer designing for Neat and Tangled - can't wait to see what you'll do next.
