Hi all! Today's card is one of those where I started out with one idea and then things just kind of evolved along the way.
This new Detail Mandala Plate is so pretty, and I wanted to try a technique that I've used with embossing folders to see how it would look with those dot details. The answer is, not quite the way I planned.
First, I inked a panel of watercolor cardstock with Citrine, Pucker, and Cherry Pawsitively Saturated Ink. I misted liberally with water, and ran the panel through my die cut machine with the plate.
While I did get some texture from the water on the panel, I didn't get as much definition around the dots as I thought I might.
To really make the panel pop and add interest, I decided to selectively color some portions with Copics. I used Y38, YR09, YR68, R24, R29, and R39.
The panel was adhered to my card base with Scor-tape because I wanted something really sticky since the watercolor paper had warped a bit.
The sentiment is from the Reverse Bold Birthday sentiment strips set and was popped up with foam tape.
Hoping your week is going well! I'm still a little in awe of the fact that we are in April!
