SSS Yay You, Sketched Leafy Wreath

It's never too early to work on Christmas cards.  I'm always looking for ways to incorporate a little Christmas card making into my crafting during the year so that I am not scrambling in November and December.

I hadn't been intending to make a Christmas card with this Sketched Leafy Wreath, it just kind of happened.

I started by foiling the leaf onto some watercolored paper with silver foil.

I then loosely watercolored the leaves with a cool green.  Once I got that first coat/wash down, I decided it needed a little oomph and added some darker sketchy accents using the same color, but this time I kept the color very saturated.

It was at this point that my card decided it needed to be a Christmas card.  I used the Large Joy die, cutting the shadow piece from Matte Silver cardstock and the sentiment itself from red.  These were adhered together and then directly to my wreath panel.

The entire panel was then popped up with foam tape over my card base.

Super easy and simple, but I love how it turned out, and I'm happy to add another Christmas card to my pile!
