STAMPtember Blog Party, Printmaking Birds

It's the second day of STAMPtember, and Simon Says Stamp is hosting a blog party!

This is different from a blog hop where there are stops linked to one another.  Instead, everyone is linked to the Simon Says Stamp blog, and there are links to all the participants from there.  There are A LOT of participants, so plenty of eye candy for you this Friday!

There are all sorts of party prizes sprinkled throughout the hop.  I'm sharing the below, you can get an ink cube holder and mesh bag for free with a $30 purchase using the code OBXUKVR1.

OK, let's talk about today's cards.  I'm showing off the newest set in my Printmaking Series, Printmaking Birds.  And I'm THRILLED to announce that there are coordinating dies available for these birds!

This first set of cards shows off the set in its normal configuration.  Like all of the Printmaking sets, the birds are perfect for mass producing and creating one layer cards.  I mixed things up a bit to show you a few different looks:

For the first card, I used dye inks on white cardstock.

I love all my Printmaking sets, but there's something about these birds that just makes me very happy.

The second card features Pigment inks on kraft cardstock.  Here's a close up:

And the final card features pigment inks on a light patterned paper.

These next cards feature some of the possibilities when you bring the dies into play.

I started by stamping a set of birds and then die cutting them.

For my first card, I softly inked up the Printmaking Houses stencil on a panel of white cardstock.

The birds were then popped up over the panel as was a white embossed sentiment from the set.

Super clean and simple and easy!

This next card was even easier.

I used an old oval template to add a few curved lines to a panel of white cardstock.

The birds were then 'perched' onto those lines, and I finished things off with yet another sentient from the set.

I had so much fun creating these and I have lots more ideas for these birds!  Be sure to head over to the Simon blog to check out everyone participating in today's blog party!
