I've got another Peony Background card to share today.
Last time I colored the background with inks/blending brushes, this time I went a more conventional route and used Copics.
I started by stamping the background with Gina K Black Amalgam ink.
Then I lightly colored a portion of the image using RV10, RV21, RV23, and RV25 for the flower itself, YG61, YG63, YG67, and G43 (to mute the yellow a little) for the leaves, and Y18 and Y38 for the stamens.
Now I did alter the image a little bit. That top leaf is actually overlapped by another flower in the background. When I inked in the image, I did not ink that portion of the leaf, and then used a marker to create an edge on the leaf.
Once my coloring was done, I placed my paper back into the stamp platform and inked again with Versa Claire black ink to really sharpen/crisp up the edges.
I then fussy cut the colored portion of my background. The right portion of this was adhered to a piece of black cardstock, and then this entire piece was popped up with foam tape over a soft gray mat.
The sentiment is from the Reverse You Did sentiment strips set, and was also popped up with foam tape.
