If you've followed me for a while, you know that I love geometric patterns. The new Citrus Slice coverplate definitely scratches that geometric itch for me.
Each of the circles is divided into eight slices, and I chose eight colors (four shades of teal/blue and four of pink/red) fill those slices. This means that I die cut the cover nine times, one for each of the colors, and one for my white base piece.
Then it was just a matter of assembly. I backed my white base piece with a piece of printer paper that I ran through my Xyron sticker machine. Then I was able to easily pop the slices in. To keep things a little more dynamic, I alternated where each of the colors appears, rotating one slice from circle to circle.
The completed piece was adhered to my card base
The Betting On You sentiment is an older die set, which was cut from white for the shadow piece, and the second darkest teal/blue color for the sentiment itself. They were adhered together and then popped up over my pie panel.
I had SO many die cut pieces left, that I created some more cards. Come back next week to see those!
