Hi friends! I have a card to share today using a few new items from the Just a Note release, the Ticking background and Just a Note die set.
I started by stamping the Ticking background onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock with Gina K Black Amalgam ink. The background was then colored in using two blue Copics, B91 and B93.
I actually trimmed this down before I had my whole card plan in order, so it's slightly smaller than A2 size. This became a problem once I decided I wanted to use the Laurel Leaves Background die because it is A2 sized, so there was a bit of space between the stamped panel and inside edges of the background die.
After a bit of head scratching, I came up with a solution. I cut an A2 sized panel of black cardstock, centered the stamped panel on it, and then adhered the background die over top. This tricks your eye into thinking that the edges of the background die are a bit wider than they actually are.
If I hadn't told you, you probably wouldn't even have noticed!
When I adhered the background die, I left plenty of the leaves free, I like the extra movement and dimension you get from them.
I used those same blue Copics to color a scrap piece of white cardstock and die cut the Just a Note sentiment from it, while the shadow piece was cut from black cardstock. The two were adhered together and the popped up over my background.
A few clear sequins added a bit of sparkle to finish things off.
