SSS Season of Wonder Release Blog Hop, Day 1

Happy Friday!  I'm excited to be participating in Day 1 of a two day hop celebrating the Sion Says Stamp Season of Wonder release.  You should be arriving from Lisa Addesa's blog, and I will have the full list below for you.

All good hops include prizes and there are two for you today.  Simon will be drawing one commenter from every stop along the hop to win $25 to spend in the Simon store.  AND, if you place an order of $25 or more this weekend, you can use the code HOLLY o get the above embossing folder for free!

My cards today feature my new I Was Wrong set.

I've had this one percolating in my head for quite a while.  I don't know about you, but it's much easier to say I'm sorry than I was wrong, or you were right.  But sometimes, that is just what the other person wants to hear.  I also designed this set to be interactive in that there are sentiments that go hand in hand and are perfect for using inside a card to complete a thought.

For this first card, I used the main images on the outside of the card.  I stamped the little girl and then the speech bubble on my panel.  The speech bubble was also stamped on a scrap piece of cardstock.  I then fussy cut the inside of the bubble out of the scrap piece of cardstock to use as a stencil, inking the inside of the speech bubble with it.

I then stamped the I Was Wrong sentiment inside the bubble, and also colored my little girl with Copics.

I also added one of the secondary sentiments in the corner.  The sentiment actually says So Very, Very, Wrong, but I masked off the so.

I used another of the secondary sentiments on the inside of the card

It's never fun having to admit that you're wrong, but it's nice to be able to add a bit of humor in the process.

These next two cards are very clean and simple on the outside.

This first one is just a simple white embossed sentient on the outside.

When you open it up, you get the main sentiment.  I feel like I need a stack of these to give to my husband for that rare occasion when the situation warrants.

Similarly, this one is a simple piece of kraft stamped with black ink on the outside.

And on the inside, a fun pop up with the little boy from the set fessing up.

To create the pop up, I lightly drew two lines that extended 1/2" on either side of the center of the card.  I used a kraft knife and straight edge to cut along those lines, and then an embossing stylus to score vertically between the cut lines.

The little boy who was stamped, colored with Copics, and die cut, was then adhered to the pop out.

Super easy, but it's such a fun surprise when you open up the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered to win.

Your next stop on the hop is Yana Smakula, and the full list is below if you need it.

Happy hopping and good luck!

  34. Okay, you just cracked me up when you said "on the rare occasions" for your husband.
I think this is a terrific way that takes some of the sting out of the "I WAS WRONG" that we've all been in. Excellent job on designing. [Bunny]
