SSS All the Joy, Layering Peppermint Stripes and New Inks

I was tickled to see some new inks in the latest Simon Says Stamp release.

These days unless I'm getting inky with Distress products, I tend to stick with my Simon Says Stamp inks.  I really like the foam pad and that they seem to do much better with solid images than some of my other inks.

Anyway, I thought this new Layering Peppermint Stripes stencil set would be a great one to try out with a couple of the new inks.  There are three stencils in the set, two with wide solid stripes, and one with two narrow stripes right next to each other.  For my card, I just used the two wider ones.

I inked the first one with Paprika, and the second with Kale.  I really like the muted vintage vibe this gave me.

I chose a sentiment from the Winter Wishes set that I stamped on an older die.  A second die cut was inked with Kale.  They were adhered together and then set aside.

I wanted some greens that were on the larger side, so I pulled out my Laurel Leaves cover die and die cut it twice, once from white cardstock and a second time from Champagne Matte cardstock.

I added Kale inking to the leaves from the white die cut, then I cut the different cluster of leaves from my cover plate and arranged them in the center of my card tacking them down with adhesive just towards the center of the card as I wanted the movement and dimension from the leaves at the ends.

The sentiment piece was then popped up over them with foam adhesive.

For a little extra oomph, I added some Trinity Stamps Boiled Sugar embellishments.

Love the rustic simplicity of this one, and I'm really enjoying these new ink colors!

Hope your week is going well!
