The Peaceful Trees set from Simon Says Stamp is one of my favorite Christmas sets released this year. The large silhouette image is so striking and creates the prettiest cards without a ton of effort.
For my cards today, I picked two trios of Pawsitively Saturated ink and just did some simple stamping.
For the green card, I used Trio 14 (Aspen, Sage, and Pine) stamping the lightest color (Aspen) first at the highest height.
Note that for the back layers of trees, the solid ground portion was higher than the ground line was going to be. I didn't make it off, but I also didned purposely ink up that portion. There was a bit of ink that got on the top of that ground line, but because it wasn't heavily/intentionally inked, it reads a bit more like snowdrifts.
Before inking up the second layer of trees, I shifted my paper up and to the side. The same was done for the third color.
I used my heat gun to ensure the inking was totally dry, then gold embossed one of the sentiments from the set.
For the blue card, I used Trio 25 (Sky, Dusk, and Night). This time, the trees were stamped in only one place, although inked up multiple times. I started by inking up the top of the trees with the lightest color, Sky, using a blending brush to soften the bottom of the inking so the line wasn't super obvious. The middle color was used for the middle of the trees, and the darkest for the bottom. You may need to do this multiple times for any given color to make sure you have a good blend between colors. I also like to go back and ink the lightest color over the whole stamp at the end as I think that helps blend things as well.
I finished things off with another couple sentiments from the set.
These cards are both so easy to create and easily customizable and mass producible with whatever color trio you prefer.
