Happy Cyber Monday! There's a special surprise from Simon and Stamp and Tim Holtz today. While supplies last, with any $25 purchase of Tim Holtz products, you'll get this Be of Good Cheer die set free.
As soon as I saw the set, I thought the little snowman and Santa heads would fit perfectly on some tags. I pulled out the Holiday Messages ornament die which was released a couple years ago to use as my tag base. For this first set of tags, the ornament was cut from kraft and the ornament holder from white cardstock. The sentiment, from the Ornamental Christmas set, was curved on an acrylic block and stamped with Versa Clair black.
Then it was tie to assemble my faces. The great thing about these is that they are small, so I was able to create them using only scraps from my scrap bin. The completed faces where adhered directly to my tags which were finished off with some twine.
I thought it would be fun to create a version of the tags that mimics mercury glass ornaments, so this time, all the pieces for my faces were cut from Matte Silver cardstock.
Color was then added using Copic markers.
For the ornaments themselves, I used Matte Silver for the base for the Santa tag and Matte Gold for the ornament holder. The sentiment was stamped with Stazon.
For the snowman, I used Red Matte Metallic cardstock, but colored with with a gray Copic to cut the color just a bit. The ornament holder was Silver Matte, and the sentiment was again stamped with Stazon.
These were really fun to create and I think my girls will enjoy getting them on their gifts!
