Neat & Tangled Release Live and Giveaway Winners

Hey everyone!

The Neat & Tangled release is now live in the store!

I was having so much fun with the Hexastar coverplate that I decided to whip up another card.

Very bold and graphic, but easy to put together.  I cut the plate from black cardstock and then mounted it on a white panel.  Then I just went in and reinserted every other triangle.  I love what a different look this gives.

For the sentiment I used the happy from Happy Holidays dies and the secondary sentiment comes from the Photo Booth set.

OK, how about some winners?

The winner of the Scandinavian Prints set is....

Kim Heggins!!!!

And the winner of the Hexastar cover plate is...

Oliev!!!!

Congratulations!

Please shoot me an email with your address and I'll get these right out to you.

Neat & Tangled Release Week - Day 4

There are two more products being revealed over at Neat & Tangled today, including the Punchinella die designed by Danielle.  I love the punchinella that we carry in the store, and this die allows you o get that same look in any color.

Today I paired it with some flowers from Scandinavian Prints for a really graphic card.

I cut the Punchinella from one of my favorite MFT color combinations, Tropical Teal and Persimmon.

The flowers were also cut from Persimmon and the details were stamped with Versafine.

I added in some of the negative circle cuts from when I cut the Punchinella die from Persimmon to add some interest and movement to the background and then finished if off with a sentiment from Scandinavian Prints.

Be sure to head over to the N&T blog to check out the rest of the team's projects and to enter to win some!

Neat & Tangled Release Week - Hexastar Giveaway

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments yesterday.  I'm thrilled that you are loving Scandinavian Prints and I hope today's reveal is just as exciting to you.

I've got a new cover plate today, Hexastar, that I'm so excited about.  I really love cover plates, and I love geometric designs.  This one has lots of details, but not so many details, or itty bitty spaces as to be too much of a pain to deal with.

For today's cards I was in a spring mood and selected three very similar colors to create a monochromatic background (PTI Spring Moss and Limeade Ice and Bazzill Card Shoppe Juicy Pear).

For the first card I followed the hexagon shapes, varying the color as I went.  Then I added a simple sentiment pairing used Painted Hello and one of the secondary sentiments from Oh Hello.  A few clear sequins finished it off.

Since I had all those extra pieces, I went ahead and whipped up another card.  This time I placed them in a grid of triangles as opposed to using the hexagons as the guide, although it's a little hard to see since the colors are quite close. That is one of my favorite things about this cover plate, there are so many ways to combine the shapes to create geometric patterns/shapes.

I stayed very CAS on the second card, just adding my You Can Do Anything die to finish it off.

Would you like to win a die?  I've got one up for grabs.  Just leave a comment here and then be sure to head over to the Neat & Tangled blog too.  You definitely want to see what the team created as well as check out today's other reveal.  As an added bonus, you can enter to win a die there too!

Neat & Tangled Release Week - Scandinavian Prints Giveaway

Hey everyone!

It's Release Week at Neat & Tangled!  I've got a couple things in this release including today's reveal: Scandinavian Prints.

I love Scandinavian floral prints, they can be very pretty as well as very graphic, and I wanted to create a set that would allow you to easily create those types of prints.

What I also love about a lot of those prints is that they can be very imprecise.  You don't have to be a master stamper to use this set, it's multi-step stamping made so easy!

I created a couple cards just to show off some of the background/print possibilities, both of them also feature the Better Together set designed by Elena Roussakis which debuted yesterday.

For this first card I did some partial die cutting to create the 'platform' that cute little girl is standing on.  I embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock which was adhered over top.

I used Altenew inks on both these, and they really came together very quickly.

I also created an idea sheet that shows you some different flower combinations.  There really are so may possibilities with this set and I'm excited to see what folks create with it!

I mentioned a giveaway right?  Leave a comment and I'll pick someone this weekend who will win this set.  AND, Danielle is giving away a set on the Neat & Tangled blog too.  Be sure to swing over there to enter to win!

Fun with dies

I recently got this new leafy branch die from Papertrey.  I just love it and wanted to use it right away. I've paired it with my Graduated Stripes cover plate.  It's got just the right amount of structure/texture to soften the background.

I die cut the branch from the top and bottom of the coverplate as well as from some black cardstock and then did some fancy inlay.  I trimmed it down a bit and then added a simple sentiment from PTI's Choose Joy stamp set.  I have to say that I really love the sentiments in this set and it's turning into a go-to set for me.

I had considered using a sentiment die, but I felt like they were competing with the background and I like the clean/flat look of the overall card.

We're off to Connecticut this weekend to check out my new niece and spend some time with my college roommate and her family.

Next week is release week at Neat & Tangled!  I've got some fun stuff in this release that I can't wait to share with you guys!

Have a great weekend!

Cute Chicks

Simon Says Stamp has a fun product release today which includes an exclusive Neat & Tangled stamp set illustrated by Elena Roussakis.

It's super cute, I just love the little Easter parade that you can create with the chicks and their band leader.

I thought it would be fun to create a couple little tags with the images.

Nothing too fancy, but my girls will appreciate them.

I'm using the Classic Tag from Neat & Tangled as the base and then some simple Copic coloring.

Be sure to stop by over at Simon to check out the full release!
