STAMPtember Blog Party

Hi all!  Today I'm taking part in a massive blog party hosted by Simon Says Stamp to celebrate their STAMPtember release.  There are lots of people participating, and there are party favors.  Each stop has a code for something fun, mine is at the bottom of this post.

The card I created for today's party uses the Good Vibes set.

I thought it would be fun to do some paper piecing with the main geometric diamond image from the set.  It's a little fussy, but I love the modern quilt look of it.

I started by stamping the diamond on white cardstock as well as three different piece of patterned paper (all from the BasicGrey Highline 6x6 pad).

The cardstock diamonds were fussy cut in whole and used as the base for my paper piecing.  Then I cut out the individual segments from the three patterned papers.  After inking the edges of all my pieces with a black marker, I adhered the patterned paper parts to my cardstock bases.

I played around with these a bit (I had actually stamped a few extra so I could experiment with placement), settling on this arrangement in a quad.

The center of the design seemed perfect for a sentiment, and I thought it would add some great contrast/dimension to create a cut out there.  I traced around one of the diamonds in the center of a white piece of cardstock, and cut it out using a craft knife.

The pieced diamonds were then arranged around the opening.

The sentiment, from Concord and 9th's Oh Snap! set was stamped directly on the base and the panel with the diamonds was popped up over top.

And here's my blog party favor/code for you:
