SSS Hello Beautiful Release

I'm taking a break from my Geometric Squares today to share a couple cards featuring the Slimline Beautiful You set from the new Simon Says Stamp Hello Beautiful release.

As it's name suggests, the sentiments in this set are sized for slimline cards, and I'm featuring both a mini slimline as well as a regular sized slimline card today.

First up the mini slimline.

I started by created a beautiful print for my card using Simon's Hexagon Tile Background.  This was stamped with Gina K Whisper Amalgam ink.  I stamped it a few times to make sure I'd be able to really see the lines for my no line coloring.

The background was then colored with Copics.  I used E50, E51, E21, and E11.  Each of the hexagons is divided into six sections.  I used the lightest color for the furthest left and right, the second for the next two, and then the darkest color for the middle two sections.  Since those last two sections are right next to each other, to get a little more contrast, I used the same color to color the one on the right a second time for a bit of a deeper color.  I did list four Copic colors.  To mix things up and get additional contrast, I for some of the hexagons I used the lightest three markers and for others the darker three.

Once that was done, I trimmed my panel down and stamped the sentiment.  Normally I'd use Versafine for the black, but since I knew I wanted to emboss the 'you are', the Beautiful was stamped with Gina K Black Amalgam ink so that there wouldn't be any issues with embossing powder sticking to the black ink.

I added a thin little strip of gold mirror cardstock above and below the stamped panel to finish things off.

This next card was just a fun one to make.  I started by applying Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink to my panel with a blending brush.  Then, I placed the Geometric Arcs stencil over top and inked it with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.  Since the stencil is 6"x 6", I need to shift it from one end to the other, but kept the design roughly lined up from one end to the other.

Once this was done, I stamped the sentiments with Versafine ink.

Next, I placed my stencil back on each portion of the card, offsetting it slightly from the previous inking, and applied texture paste to the top left and lower right corners, and added a bit towards the center of the card as well.  I did cover up the sentiment with masking tape so that I wouldn't get paste over the sentiment.

Once the texture paste was dry, I added some splatter.  I used Heidi Swapp Gold Lame and Black Velvet.  A couple strips of that gold mirror cardstock on either end of my panel finished this card off.

Be sure to head over to Simon Says Stamp to check out the rest of the release, and thanks for stopping by!
