SSS Make Magic Release

Hi all!  A new, MASSIVE, release just dropped at Simon Says Stamp.  I've been having a great time creating with it, and will be sharing my creations with you over the next week or so.

This first card features the new Mountainscape background.  I love mountain products and couldn't wait to play with this one.

I decided it would be fun to paper piece with the background.  There are seven layers to this.  I started with a light blue for the background, then picked three shades of gray cardstock for the mountains and three shades of green for the evergreens.  The clouds were stamped on white cardstock and then adhered directly to whichever layer they were associated with.

Besides that, the layers built onto one another, so the bottom of the card is pretty thick.

The sentiment die, This is Living, is also from this release.

Next up is a card featuring the new Stained Glass Background.

I clear embossed the background on watercolor paper, and then used my Kuretake Gansai watercolors to randomly color in the spaces with blues and blue greens.  I'm not going to lie, this took a lot longer than I thought it was going to, but I do like the result, it reminds me of pool tiles.

The sentiment die, Wish I Could Hug You, is another new release.  It comes with a shadow die, but I like it on it's own.  To make sure that it really stood out, I cut it four times, once with white cardstock, and three times with dark blue, layering them together and then adhering the finished piece to my panel.

The entire panel was then popped up over my card base with foam tape.

Finally, I have a card to share using the Geometric Builder Hearts dies.

I used three of the hearts for this card, the large bisected heart, the medium sized bisected heart and the tiny heart.

For the bisected hearts, I chose four shades of gray.  The darker two for the bottom layer, and the lighter two for the middle layer.  To mix things up, I alternated the location of the colors.

These were adhered to my panel, and then the red hearts were popped up over the middle layer for some extra dimension.

The sentiment set is from a set you are probably going to see a lot of, All About You.  I love the font and the size of these sentiments!

That's all for me today.  Be sure to head over to Simon Says Stamp to check out the rest of the release, there are some really good things to see!

I'll be back tomorrow to share some more cards featuring the new release.
