SSS Diecember, Happy B-Day

There are some really great birthday themed products in the Diecember release.

I am totally smitten with this big Happy B-Day die.  It's just the right size where there's still space for a really interesting background or coordinating image/die, but it also doesn't get dwarfed by the other things happening on your card front either.

This is another no stamping card and was really easy to put together.

All the dies were cut from white cardstock and inked.  I used two of the newer Pawsitively Saturated ink pads, Melon and Bubblegum.  Now I will confess that the colors are not as 'pure' as they would have been if I was really diligent about cleaning off my blending mat between inkings, but I actually don't mind that the colors mix a little bit.  I think it adds some additional variation and interest.

I started by inking a bunch of the Streamer Ribbons die cuts.  I played with these a bit on my panel to get a configuration that I liked, but thought that the panel was a little too stark, so before adhering the ribbons, I added a bit of soft inking to the bottom of the panel.

The ribbons were then adhered to the panel and the excess portions were trimmed off.

I then die cut the sentiment, adding some inking to it with a bit of a heavier hand towards the bottom, adhered it to the sentiment base piece, and then popped the entire thing up with foam tape.

Really easy, and while I went with a softer look, you could definitely go with bolder, brighter colors.

Come back tomorrow for some more Diecember birthday fun!
