I've got another Diecember birthday card to share today.
When I was first looking through the release, I noticed that the pattern of the Detail Tapestry Plate kind of mimicked the flames from the Party Candle dies. So, I started by die cutting the Detail Tapestry Plate and then die cutting it with a rectangle die just slightly smaller than an A2 size.
Then, I went through my sardstock scraps to assemble a rainbow of candles. I also die cut five flames (I used the larger of the two flames) from yellow cardstock.
I then pulled out a rainbow of Copic markers, coloring a small piece of cardstock in a rainbow ombre to match the distribution of the rainbow candles. The It's Your Birthday sentiment was then cut from that piece, while the shadow sentiment die was cut from white cardstock.
To add a bit of depth to my candles, I added some Copic shading to the bottom of the flames as well as a bit of very subtle shading using N1 and N0 to the bottom of the candles themselves.
I wanted to play up the idea of the warmth from the candle flames, so I used a small blending brush and some. yellow ink to add a soft glow to the Detail Tapestry Plate behind each of the flames.
Once this was done, it was time for assembly. The background piece was adhered directly to the card base, and then the candle pieces were popped up with foam tape. The sentiment was popped up with an additional piece of foam tape for some extra dimension.
That's all for me today, hope your week is going well!
