I've been wanting a hot foil system for a quite a while now. Right after Christmas, I ordered one, but it was backordered and only finally came a few weeks ago. I thought the Rose and Blooms Bouquet Hot Foil Plate/Die from Simon's Happy and Joyful release would be perfect for my trial run.
It really is SO easy to foil. I have the Glimmer Hot Foil System from Spellbinders.
These panels were created in a matter of minutes. Since I was experimenting, I tried foiling regular white cardstock, watercolor paper, and some dark navy cardstock.
I am so pleased with the results. I didn't see a huge different in how the white and watercolor paper handled the foil despite the watercolor paper being more textured.
This is the white:
And this is the watercolor paper:
Both of the panels were trimmed down and I added a vellum mat to each. I think it adds an airy softness and delicacy to the card.
To amp up the metallic, I finished the cards off with sentiments from the All Things Happy Remix Reverse Sentiment Strips which were foiled using my Minc machine.
I just love how polished and professional it is and with so little effort!
Really looking forward to some more foiling. I need to get some more foil colors!
