Hi friends. I'm back with another STAMPtember card today. This one features the Bold Leaves cling background.
I started by creating an inky panel using Tim Holtz Watercolor paper and Distress Oxides. I used a variety of fall themed colors (including some greens and purples) to create the panel.
I have a love hate relationship with Distress Oxides. I like that they show on darker/colored cardstock, but whenever I use them I miss the vibrancy of Distress Inks.
This card solved some of that for me.
After my panel was dry, I stamped the background with Versamark and embossed using Fire Brick Distress Glaze. Using that glaze adds the vibrancy of color that I want in a background.
Note that there's a lot of texture in the stamping/embossing. That's because I used the more textured side of the watercolor paper. I could have gotten a better impression by inking multiple times and pressing a little harder, but I actually really like the added texture.
For the sentiment, I used the Hello Sweater Weather dies. The sentiment itself was cut from my favorite Gold Matte cardstock, and I used terracotta cardstock for the shadow piece. I added some inking around the edges of that to darken it up and give it a bit of a glow in the center.
The sentiment piece was popped up over my panel, and a few sequins finished things off.
I hope you've been enjoying all the STAMPtember inspiration, much more to come!
