SSS STAMPtember, Sparkling Facets Embossing Folder

Hey everyone!  I'm back with another inky STAMPtember card.

A lot of my cards this month feature inky watercolor cardstock panels.  This is because when I get all that stuff out, I tend to batch process and create a bunch of panels.

This particular panel was one of the ones I created using Distress Inks vs the Oxides.  You can see the underlying color is a little brighter/more vibrant.  I also mixed in some Distress Mica Stain.

After looking at all my completed inky backgrounds, I was only so so on this one.  I felt like it needed a little something.  Solution: the Sparkling Facets Embossing Folder.

Before sending my panel through my diecutting machine, I used a brayer to ink up the surface of my embossing folder with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide.  Yup, I sometimes mix my Distress Inks and Oxides, but only when they are dry.

I wasn't sure how it would look when I ran it through, but I really love the result.  I think the Peacock Feathers really makes the patten stand out and accentuates the underlying colors.

The focal point for my card is the Etched Butterfly die.  This was cut from some chartreuse cardstock, and I added some inking around the edges, Frayed Burlap and Peacock Feathers, again using the Distress Oxide vs. Distress Ink.

The butterfly was adhered with regular adhesive in the center, but I added foam adhesive under the edges of the wings, two layers for the top of the butterfly and one for the bottom, to give some depth and dimension.

The sentiment is from the Healing Hugs set.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!
