Happy Friday! It's also Day 1 of the Simon Says Hop Beautiful Days Blog Hop. You should be arriving here from Heather Ruwe's blog. I will have the full hop list at the bottom of this post should you need it.
All good hops have prizes right? One commenter from each stop along the hop will win a $25 credit to Simon Says Stamp. In addition, this weekend, you can receive the Flower Garden emboss and cut folder for free with every purchase over $30 of more using code BUD.
Now that I've gotten the formalities out of the way, let's take a look at today's card.
This was one of those fun cards to make because I didn't start out with a particular plan in mind, it just kind of happened.
I started with a panel that I had created a while back using Distress Inks, Spray Stains, etc. This was one that I wasn't totally enamored with, but since I knew I was going to use the bold new Geo Leaf Background, I didn't need a panel that was super 'special' to start with.
The background was embossed using Fired Brick embossing glaze. Then I inked the edges just a bit with Dusty Concord (one of the colors I had originally used in the panel) to bring your eye towards the center of the card.
Next, I used some gold watercolor and a thin brush to add some accents around the leaves as well as some splatter.
The completed panel was popped up with foam adhesive, and I finished things off with the Basic Box Card Happy Birthday die which was cut twice from white cardstock and once from Matte Gold, adhered together and then to my panel.
This was a really fun one to create, sometimes it's just nice to pull your supplies out and play.
OK, that's all for me. Your next stop is Alberto Gava, and below is the whole hop list.
Have fun checking out all the eye candy and don't forget to leave a comment to be entered to win. Good luck!
