It's been a while since I created a celestial background, but it seemed appropriate for the new Out of This World release.
My panel was created using mostly Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Spray Stains along with a bit of Fortune Teller Distress Mica Stain. I cerated the background by applying the spray stains to the panel, but also spraying them on my work surface and then drying, dabbing/smooshing into the stain on my craft surface, drying, etc. About halfway through the process I added that bit of Fortune Teller, and continued with the dabbing/smooshing until I was happy with the result.
Once the panel dried, I added some inking around the edges using Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and some white splatter using Hero Arts White Glimmer Metallic ink.
The new Holding Space for You sentiment was cut from Glossy White cardstock, while the shadow piece was cut from some watercolor cardstock that I treated using the same process as the background, minus the white splatter.
Those two pieces were adhered together and then popped up over my background.
I've forgotten how much fun creating these galaxy cards!
