Hi friends! Today I'm sharing two super easy ways to create impactful backgronds using emboss resist inking. My cards today both feature the new Regal Hearts background.
I started by inking and clear embossing the background on both of my cardstock panels.
Once that was done, I trimmed the panels down.
For the red card, I just added simple inking around the edges using Paprika ink.
Inking around the edges of your background adds drama and depth to the panel making the center glow. The addition of the embossed background just gives it a little more elegance and oomph.
I kept this one very clean and simple, adding the Hugs and Kisses sentiment which was cut from Matte Silver cardstock and popped up with foam tape as well as a smattering of clear sequins.
To do this, I simply placed a mask between the rows of the pattern, and inked the edge of the mask with Cherry ink. I then moved the mask down the pattern between the row where I had inked the one edge and the next row, and inked again. This was repeated both horizontally and perpendicularly until the entire background was inked. The inking basically emphasizes the squares in the pattern.
I actually used one of the clear backers that Simon Says Stamp background stamps come with for this job. It was a great way to reuse the clear material, but it also allowed me to very precisely line up the mask and see exactly where it was.
The sentiment was cut from Glossy White cardstock and adhered to a shadow piece cut from the same cardstock as the background and inked on the edges with Cherry ink. This, as well as the secondary sentiment from the All the Love Reverse Sentiment Strips, was popped up with foam tape.
That's all for me today, thanks for stopping by!
