It's Friday, and I'm hopping with Simon Says Stamp celebrating the new Moments in Time release. You should be arriving here from Keisha Charles' blog. I have the full hop list below in case you get turned around.
As always, there are lots of prizes to be had. Simon is giving away $25 to spend in the store at each stop along the hop. All you need to do to be entered to win is leave a comment. In addition, with any Moments in Time product purchase this weekend, you'll receive the cute Best Fishes stamps set pictured above.
OK, on to the cards. Today I'm showing off my new Ribbon Quilt dies. I'm really thrilled with how easy these are to work with and how much fun they are to create with. You get two 'ribbon' dies along with two dies that cut the parallelogram shapes that can be ahered to the ribbons to create the illusion of dimension. There is also a die that cuts squares that nest perfectly in the spaces between the ribbons when you butt them up together.

For this first card, I chose two shades of aqua and two shades of olive green to create my ribbons. These were adhered to my backgroud panel, alternating the colors.
For the sentiment, I used the Thanks die that is included in the White Fusion die set. Both pieces were cut from navy cardstock, and the sentiment piece was cut from Gold Matte as well. The navy outline and Gold Matte letters were then inlaid onto the background shadow piece.
The Fancy Love You sentiment was cut from red and ahdered to teh shadow piece cut from kraft.
These dies really can be used for any occasion, case in point, my first Christmas card for the year.
I used the same pink and red as the previous card, and then went with a bright green and charreuse for the green ribbon. Again these were alternated over my background.
The Joyful sentiment was cut from the chartreuse and layered onto a shadow piece cut from the same dark green background color. I also added a secondary Sentiment Strip sentiment.
Next up a very modern take.
This time, I create ribbons using black and dark gray, and these were arranged at an angle so that they look like boxes.
The sentiments are from the Clean Line XL set.
And finally a very clean and simple, but bold look.
For this card, I die cut the ribbons from a panel of dark gray cardstock. I added a silver embossed sentiment from the Clean Line Stacks set.
The panel was then adhered to my card base with foam tape. I then die cut some Matte Silver squares to pop up between the two die cut spaces.
