Of all the ephemera in the world.....

....my favorite is Crate Paper/Maggie Holmes ephemera.

I dove into the stash again yesterday.  Every time I do this, I realize that I might never have to buy embellishments again because I have SO MUCH.

My jumping off point for this card was that blue and gold tag....usually that's the way these stash cards work.  I pick something I want to use, might be the focal point, might not be, but then everything falls in place from there.

The tag is a little small to carry the card on it's own, so I needed pieces to balance it, and I decided to utilize some polaroid frames, also from Crate Paper.

At this point, I pulled out the 6x6 pads.  I went with a neutral base piece and decided it would be fun to back the polaroid frames with some patterned papers.  These were actually just scraps that were loose in one of my Crate Paper 6x6 pads.  I also added a strip of black/cream chevron to the bottom to ground everything.



For balance and to soften the composition, I added a bit of pink doily and a portion of a PTI Leafy Branch die cut.

Finally, to finish off the focal tag, I stamped a sentiment from Ellen Hutson's Mondo Magnolia set and a bit of twine.

Yay! Using up the Old Stuff - the Maggie Holmes Edition

I'm working with my stash again today.  This time I chose to pull out some Maggie Holmes Ephemera, using a tag as my focal point and sentiment.  I mixed some die cuts from the ephemera pack (leaf with gold accents and the polka dot leaf) with some dies that are also from Maggie Holmes/Crate.

The papers are from some of my older Maggie Holmes 6x6 paper pads.  I used my MFT fringe die to with one of the papers to create the borders on that base piece of ephemera and added some machine stitching as well.



The tag was finished up with some Maya Road natural and gold twine.

It's so fun to use up some of my stash as well as pull out some dies that haven't been used in a while!

We all need a little right!

This card is for Crate Paper's Patterned Paper challenge. I used papers from two of their 6x6 paper pads: Little Bo Peep and Pretty Party.

It's a little time consuming to put together, but not rocket science. Ellie actually helped punch the little circles using a large (just a bit bigger than 3/8") hole punch.

I traced three circles on the woodgrain paper to use as guidelines and then tacked the pieces on with a teeny bit of adhesive. Then I used the sewing machine going around each ring of circles three times.

Hope that your week is off to a great start! I know lots of kids are back in school already. Carina moved up to her next class in preschool today - the Cardinals - the girl is growing up! And Ellie starts kindergarten next week!!! Crazy!
