SSS Stacked Holiday Sentiments

Hi friends, today I'm sharing a couple cards featuring my new sentiment set, Stacked Holiday Sentiments. The set contains six sentiments that are perfect for winter/holiday cards. I pulled out some of my favorite older stencils for these cards.

This first card features my Village stencils. There are four stencils that create the buildings, and a fifth that adds the windows. I used Morning, Sky, and Dusk for the building stencils, inking Morning twice, more heavily the second time.  Flannel was used for the windows.

The sentiment was then stamped with Versa Clair black ink.

This next card features a retired stencil set which was inked with Morning and Sky. Both were used twice for the buildings, once for the building itself, and a second time for the windows. There is also a star layer, and I used the excess ink on the blending brush to very light link those up.

The sentiment was again stamped with Versa Clair black ink.

These came together very quickly, and nice and flat for mailing.

SSS All the Joy Release

It's November first and there's a new release available from Simon Says Stamp called All the Joy.  I'm thrilled to have designed several new products for this release.  Today I'm featuring my newest layering stencil set, Village.  It's a set of five stencils and a mask.  There are four stencils that create the buildings, one for the windows and sun/moon, and a mask for the top of the skyline.

I'm thrilled with how these stencils turned out, and I had so much fun creating today's cards.

For this first card I chose two blue inks, Twilight and Galaxy, and two purples, Violet and Iris, which were used for the buildings.  For the sky, I just placed my mask over the buildings, and used the residue on my purple blending brush to add a bit of color.

For the windows I used Dreamweaver Metallic Copper Embossing Paste.  I wasn't quite sure how the color would look, I had planned to use gold embossing paste and realized I had run out.  This was a happy accident though, I think the copper offset the purples perfectly.

I finished this one off with a simple Sentiment Strip.

I went a bit brighter for my next card, changing the orientation as well.  This time I used Limelicious, Fairway, Marine, and Cadette, for the buildings.  The windows were done with Gina K black Amalgam ink, and I used Sunbeam for the sun (which I inked separately from the windows because I wanted it higher in the sky).  I also used a bit of residual Cadette for the sky.

The sentiment was from the Spring in My Step stamp set.

Super simple, but such a different look from the first card!

Since it's almost Christmas, I couldn't get away without making a couple of Christmas cards.

These were actually inked at the same time....so you can definitely mass produce with this set.

I placed one piece of kraft cardstock vertically on my Stamp & Stencil mat, added one of the stencil layers, and inked.  Leaving that first panel in place, I put a positioned a second panel horizontally over that first panel and inked again.  Then I switched stencils, inked, removed the second panel and inked the original panel.  This was repeated until the design was complete.

For these cards I used Watermelon and Cherry along with Fairway and Pine.  For the windows i used the Crafter's Workshop White Modeling Paste.

 

For the vertical card I added a sentiment from the Holiday Greetings set, and for the horizontal card I used a simple sentiment strip.
