SSS Be Creative, Parallelogram Take 2

I've got another card to share today using my new Parallelogram background.  

This background was created much like the one from my card on Tuesday with a few modifications.  For the embossing, I used Hero Arts Sand embossing powder.  This is one of my favorite embossing powders, I love the unique look you get from it.

For the background base, I used Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, and Candied Apple.  I did a bit more dabbing/smooshing this time around to get a more variegated look.

Then I went in with my Distress Watercolor Pencils.  I used Seedless Preserves, Vintage Photo, Wild Honey, and Crackling Campfire.  I used the first three colors to randomly color in some of the Parallelograms and the Crackling Campfire to add a some pops of color to the white space in the design.

For a little extra shine and texture, I splattered some Hero Arts Rose Gold Metallic Ink over the panel.

The Feel Better Soon sentiment was die cut three times from dark orange cardstock and once from Matte Gold and then adhered to my panel which was then popped up over my card base.

SSS Be Creative Parallelogram

Hey everyone!  I've got a card to share today featuring my latest background for Simon Says Stamp, Parallelogram.

I started by clear embossing the background on a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper.

I then sprayed Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Spray Stains onto my craft mat, and swiped my panel through the colors.  The panel was sprayed with water to get the ink moving a bit, and then dried the panel a little with my heat tool.  I then dabbed my panel into the leftover ink on the kraft mat, dried, dabbed a few more times until I was happy with the look.

To add a bit more dimension to the panel, I use a couple distress watercolor pencils.  I pulled color directly from the pencil using a waterbrush to add color to my panel.  I used Mermaid Lagoon to add color to the right angles, and Twisted Citron to add color in the corners of some of the parallelograms.

To finish the card off, I die cut the cloud piece from the Basic Card Box Beach and Sky dies, trimming off the flaps that are normally used to attach it to the sides of the card box, and adhered it to my panel.

The Missing You So Much sentiment was die cut three times from white cardstock and once from teal.  These were adhered together and then to my card.

The entire panel was then popped up with foam tape.
