SSS Heart to Heart Release, Heart City Stencils

It's a release day at Simon Says Stamp! The Heart to Heart release is live, and as the title suggests, it'ss about all things love. Today I'm sharing a couple of cards created using the new Heart City stencils. This is a set of three stencils that create a repeating dimensional heart shaped building.

For my first card today, I wnet monochromatic, inking the stencils with Carnation, Peony and Rose to create my background. 

For the sentiments, I pulled out my ilysm stamps and dies, die cutting the shadow piece from white, the sentiment itself from hot pink cardstock, and stamping the secondary sentiment in black on that same pink cardstock.  Super easy.

Next up, my favorite card created for this release. This was fun because I was just kind of playing and experimenting.

This time, I used Distress Oxide Sprays to create the bottom portions of the heart buildings with Villainous Potion on the left, and Peacock Feathers on the right.

For the solid heart stencils, I combined Ranger Transparent Matte Texture Paste with Ominous Twilight Distress Mica Stain, spreading this through the stencil.

While I really liked the look, I wanted something with a little more oomph, so, once the paste was dry, I replaced the stencil, and rubbed Statue Foundry Wax around the edges of the hearts and then heat set.

A little bit of gold splatter using my Starry Colors watercolors finished off the background.

The sentiment is from the Clean Line Stacks set and was gold embossed on black cardstock, die cut, and popped up with foam tape.

SSS Happy Camper, ilysm Take 4

One more ilysm card to share today. This is another simple one layer card featuring my Modern Heart Quilt stencils.

I placed the stencils slightly offset and very lightly inked with Marine, Seafoam, Lucky, Sprout, Ocean and Celery.

The sentiments were stamped with Versafine Clair, and the panel was then adhered to my blue card base.

I've had so much fun this week pairing these sentiments with older products!

SSS Happy Camper, ilysm Take 3

Hi all, I have a very simple one layer card to share today.  I started with a panel of blue cardstock that I randomly stamped using the images from my Dreamy Leaves set with Night ink.

After using my heat gun to ensure that all the ink was dry, the ilysm sentiments were gold embossed, and the finished panel was adhered to my card base.

That's all, so quick and easy.  I love the tone on tone look with dark colors, don't you?

SSS Happy Camper IG Hop, ilysm Take 2

My cards feature my ilysm word die paired with the Nested Rounded Hearts dies.

For the first card, top left, I kept things very simple, cutting each successive heart from a shade of red/pink.  These were then stacked and adhered together.

The sentiment was cut from black cardstock and adhered onto a shadow piece cut from vellum.

This was then centered over my stacked hearts.  

For my second card, I went with the same idea, but stepped things up a bit.  

The largest heart was die cut from the center of a white panel.  The second heart was die cut from a pink cardstock, and the third layer was then cut from the middle of that heart to create a heart outline.  This was repeated with the fourth and fifth hearts, and the sixth heart was used as a solid heart.

I added a red panel, cut smaller than my white die cut panel, directly to my card base, then popped this white panel up with foam tape.

The two heart outlines and small solid heart were also popped up with foam tape.

I then added the sentiment which was cut from white and adhered to a black shadow piece which was then popped up over all of those die cut hearts with foam tape.

Happy Friday!  Today I'm sharing a couple of really simple cards created using my newest word die, ilysm, from the new Happy Camper release.

I started by cutting two panels of white cardstock.  The dog and sentiment were centered on my panel and die cut.

The doggie die cuts were colored with Copics.  For the schnauzer, I used W0, W2, W3, W4, W5, and W6, and for the dachsund I used E21, E13, E23, E25, and E29.

I then cut two black cardstock mats which were adhered directly to my card bases.  The die cut white panels were then added using foam tape.  

Lastly, I inlaid the doggie die cuts with foam tape.  The black mat beneath served to 'color' in the dogs' eyes and noses.

You could easily have made this a shaker card too, the word die is perfect for shakers since each of the letters is separate and there are no letters like a or e where you need to add back the center of the letter.
