Flashback Friday 23.0 - First card with a butterfly

This month's challenge at Flashback Friday is to share the first card you made with a butterfly/butterflies.

This card was from this past December, and was created for Case Study #68.

Sorry for the dark photo, this is back before I was editing them.  The colors are actually significantly brighter.

As I recall, this was my first experience with both the spray pen (which I have grown to love) and the Just Blooms butterflies (which I also love, but don't use nearly enough). 

It's fun to look back (even if it is only a few months) and see things I would have done differently....guess that means I'm progressing, or something.

Flashback Friday 21.0 - First Paper Pieced Card

This month at Flashback Friday we are sharing our first paper pieced card. This is a technique that I have come to love, much to my surprise. For a non colorer like myself (I would dearly LOVE to be able to color in my images like so many of you, but I just can't quite stomach the investment in those markers right now when there's so much other stuff I want, plus I'm a little intimidated by it, if you want the truth) this is a great way to kind of get that affect without actually having to color or own lots of markers.

Anyway, it was fun to look back over my paper pieced projects since they are some of my favorites, and I'm so excited to share this card with you again because I really love it.

My original post was about how you can use non-Christmas stamps to make Christmas cards, and this was just one of the cards that I shared in that post. I love this PS stamp set, and have used it many times, but this remains one of my favorite cards. I had a great time putting it together, and hope you enjoy it the second time around too.

Flashback Friday 20.0 - First Black and White card

I recently learned about the Flashback Friday Challenge blog. They pick a topic/challenge, and you re-post your first project that fits. This is their 20th challenge and the topic is black and white cards.

I'm at a bit of a disadvantage since I have only been blogging since last June, and after reviewing all my posts have discovered that I have NO solely black and white cards. Apparently I like color.

I'm reposting this card that I made not that long ago....it's not purely black and white, but it's the most black and white that I have right now, and a few other folks have posted cards with a splash of color, so I'm hoping it's OK.
